French Tutor (K–12)

1. About Us

Your French Learning Centre (YFLC) is a growing, student-focused learning hub dedicated to helping K–12 learners build confidence and proficiency in French. We provide personalized, high-quality instruction tailored to each student’s needs, fostering both academic success and a genuine appreciation for the French language. As a startup, we value adaptability, creativity, and a shared commitment to meaningful learning experiences.

2. Your Role

 Join our bench of tutors — you will work directly with K–12 students in both one-on-one and small group settings. Sessions are 45 minutes in length and scheduled on an as-needed basis.

• This is an in-person role with the potential to tutor virtually as the business grows. All in-person sessions to be conducted on-site at YFLC
• Availability is required between:
  •  4:00–6:30 PM Tuesday – Wednesday 
  • 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday & Friday
  • 1:00-5:00 PM Saturday
  • attend occasional Saturday events, as needed
• Previous tutoring and/or education experience is an asset but not required.

3. What You Will Be Doing

• Be on call to support K–12 students in developing their French language skills 
• Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons
• Communicate effectively with parents, school teachers (public/private), and third-party partners
• Track student progress and provide feedback
• Represent and promote YFLC’s goals and initiatives through your work
• Collaborate as part of a small, dedicated team

4. Who You Are

• You have a B1 level of French or are willing to undergo a YFLC B1 French assessment.  Note: A background in French education is preferred, but not required.
• You are patient and genuinely enjoy supporting student growth and learning
• You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of planning effective lessons
• You are adaptable and open to change in a startup environment
• You bring a positive, team-oriented mindset to your work. 
• Willing to complete background and criminal check

6. Compensation and Benefits

We believe in fair, transparent compensation that reflects your contribution:

• $14 per 45-minute tutoring session. Hours and responsibilities may grow as YFLC grows.
