Educator-supervised learning spaces for virtual learners and homeschooled students
A 2024 systematic review of remote work and study environments found that residential spaces present significant challenges that severely lower productivity (Rotimi et al., 2024).
To help solve this challenge to student learning, YFLC, Inc. is proud to launch a new initiative called EduSpace Learning™ .
What Is EduSpace Learning™ ?
EduSpace Learning ™ is an initiative which provides supervised educational space and tutoring support services to virtual learners and homeschooled students. At this time, YFLC, Inc is only enrolling students in Grades 7-12.
Note: EduSpace Learning™ is not a daycare nor is its parent organisation, YFLC, Inc, a school or school authority. Participating students will adhere to the curriculum established by their homeschool lead (typically a parent or guardian) or their virtual school.
Aside from Enrichment activities for students who complete their assigned tasks early, YFLC staff will not provide instruction or develop curriculum or instructional content to engage students.
How does the program work?
The process is simple and effective.
- Students check-in at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre at the beginning of their learning period. Our Check-in protocol and a daily outline will be shared with all enrolled families.

- YFLC, Inc provides quiet learning spaces for students to complete their assigned tasks.
- YFLC staff serve as tutors to support education. Staff may support students by clarifying instructions on material, answering questions about content in a limited scope.
- At the end of their learning period, students are signed out and picked up only by an authorised parent or guardian. Check-out protocol will be shared with all enrolled families.

Note: A $99 administrative fee will be charged for all monthly plans each semester in September and January or upon enrolment. The Flex Rate is exempt from this fee.

Here are some commonly asked questions.
1. General & Admissions
What is EduSpace? EduSpace is a structured co-working hub specifically for students (currently Grades 7–12) who are homeschoolers or enrolled in virtual/online schools. We provide a productive environment outside the home for focused study, community, and facilitation support.
What grades are you currently accepting? We are currently accepting students in Grades 7 through 12 only. Parents of younger students are encouraged to contact us to be added to our wait-list, as we plan to expand to younger grades in the near future.
Is acceptance guaranteed? No. We want to ensure we are a good fit for each student’s unique needs to better serve our community. We conduct an interview with each prospective family to ensure we are the right fit before final acceptance.
2. Goal Setting & Accountability
How do you help students stay on track with their studies? We incorporate a structured goal-setting process into every session to help students build executive function and maintain focus.
Morning Goals: At the beginning of each Learning Period (our standard half-day session), students are required to set specific, achievable learning goals for themselves.
Gentle Check-ins: At the end of the Learning Period, a friendly staff member will gently check in with them to review their progress and see if they have achieved their goals.
Rewards: Successful goal achievement can unlock various rewards within the center.
3. The EduSpace Model
What curriculum do you teach? We do not provide instruction or a primary curriculum. Students bring their own school-guided (Online Learning) or parent-led (traditional homeschooling) curriculum. Our staff are facilitators who manage the environment, offer accountability, and provide general support.
Do you charge hourly rates for fast learners? No, we do not charge by the hour. We operate on a recurring monthly membership model based on scheduled access. Since all of our enrollment is based on fixed Learning Periods, if a student finishes their core work early, they are expected to transition to quiet reading, review, or self-directed learning within our Enrichment Zone for the remainder of their scheduled Learning Period.
When are your sessions?All of our current enrollment options are based on standard Learning Periods. We offer specific morning and afternoon time blocks to maximize flexibility and maintain safe, manageable student-to-staff ratios. Please contact us for the specific time slots currently available.
Are meals or snacks included? Meals are not included. However, students may bring their own snacks. All snacks must be eaten in a designated area of our centre. Please note that nut products and other major allergens are strictly prohibited for the safety of our community.
4. Safety & Operations
Who supervises the students? Qualified adult professionals are on-site at all times during the learning day. They manage the facility, ensure a productive environment, and enforce safety protocols, including our strict arrival and departure procedures.
Additionally, Sevenoaks Shopping Centre has a trained on-site security team that is available immediately. Our Centre Director is also trained in Emergency Management and maintains an emergency plan that is reviewed regularly with staff.
What background checks have staff undergone? The safety of our students is non-negotiable. All adults working with YFLC/EduSpace will have undergone the appropriate criminal records and background checks.
5. Pricing & Registration
Do you offer any discounts? Yes, we offer a sibling discount. There is a 10% discount for additional siblings. Please note that this discount is not cascading and is limited to a maximum of 3 children total.
Does my child need an academic diagnostic assessment? No academic diagnostic is required. We provide a complimentary Hub Tour & Family Onboarding (approximately 20 minutes). This allows us to meet with your family and confirm that your student is comfortable and capable of working semi-independently in a shared environment.
How do I register my child? Registration can be completed on our website. We require standard family information, specific schedule requests, and completion of all safety and liability waivers.
6. Technology
What is your computer usage policy? Use of personal laptops and tablets for school work and learning is standard. However, we maintain a positive and balanced learning environment and reserve the right to limit non-educational screen time, such as gaming or social media.
My child is on Zoom calls often. Is there quiet space for them? Yes. Our hub is thoughtfully zoned so that students requiring silence for deep work are separated from those who may need to participate in online calls or collaborate in groups. We prioritize providing the appropriate environment for your student’s specific learning tasks.
