The 2026 YFLC French Summer Camp Lineup

French Camp for Grades 4 to 6: Language, Culture, and STEAM

This week-long camp is tailored specifically for intermediate elementary students who want to experience French outside of a traditional classroom setting. Parents can choose to register for the morning session, the afternoon session, or combine both for a well-rounded week of French immersion!

Dates: Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10, 2026
Location: Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC
Morning Session: Language & Culture (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

This session focuses on interactive communication, building practical vocabulary, and discovering global francophone traditions. Through immersive group games and conversational activities, campers will boost their speaking skills while making new friends.
Afternoon Session: Science & Art (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

Keep the creativity flowing with a unique curriculum that blends French language instruction with hands-on science experiments and art projects. Campers will participate in active team challenges, collaborate on skits, and embark on fun virtual field trips. It is the ultimate choice for Fraser Valley kids who love multi-disciplinary STEAM activities.

French Camp for Grades 7 and 8: No Prior French Required

Transitioning into middle school or high school is the ideal time to develop a second language. These specialized sessions are specifically designed for older youth. Whether your teen is a complete beginner or looking for a supportive refresher course, no prior French experience is necessary to excel in these camps.

Morning Session: Language Basics & Global Culture (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Students will dive right into fundamental language skills and explore francophone cultures worldwide. Using interactive team challenges, conversational games, and introductory skits, campers learn practical, real-world phrases in an approachable atmosphere. To celebrate their achievements, every participant who completes the entire weekly program will earn an official Certificate of Completion!
Afternoon Session: Hands-On Active Learning & STEAM (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)

Hosted by a certified teacher, the afternoon session keeps students moving and actively utilizing their new language tools. This program focuses on applying foundational French to collaborative games, problem-solving tasks, and engaging STEAM activities. It is a fantastic, stress-free opportunity to boost language fluency and build local connections.

Important Camp Details and Registration for Parents

To ensure a seamless and safe experience for all families participating in our Abbotsford youth programs, please keep the following guidelines and operational details in mind:

Registration and Forms: Secure your spot directly through our official Eventbrite postings. Once payment is completed on Eventbrite, full camp registration forms and waivers will be emailed to you. Please use an email address you check frequently to ensure prompt completion before camp begins.
Pricing and Early Bird Discounts: Take advantage of early bird registration rates starting at $165 plus processing fees, with regular admission starting from $177.06 per weekly session. Spaces are strictly limited to maintain small group sizes and provide personalized attention.
Cancellation Policy: We understand that summer plans can change. Full refunds are available up to 30 days prior to the start of the chosen camp week, minus a $45 administrative processing fee. Please note that no refunds can be issued less than 30 days before the camp begins.
Prompt Pickup Policy: These are half-day camps running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A brief 15-minute grace period is provided for families. Campers who are not picked up by 12:15 PM or 4:15 PM will incur an additional late pickup charge of $25 per 30 minutes.
